This study comprehensively presents a sample instructional activity titled "Fog Catching Net," developed based on the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach in chemistry classes, along with its theoretical foundation. STEM education, which emerged historically as an educational reform resulting from economic and technological competition in the USA, aims to enhance students' 21st-century skills, academic achievement, affective development, and career awareness through an interdisciplinary holistic approach. Built upon constructivist learning theory and the 5E instructional model (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate), this research adopts the Integrated STEM education approach. Planned for 4 class hours within the scope of the "Water and Life" topic of the "Nature and Chemistry" unit in the secondary chemistry curriculum, students assume the role of environmental engineers during the activity. Students are requested to design a fog-catching net prototype—an alternative method for obtaining drinking water to provide an innovative solution to the global water crisis—perform budget and cost analyses, conduct mathematical calculations, evaluate their products, and write a story to raise social awareness. Consequently, by contextualizing and making abstract chemistry concepts concrete through daily life connections, this activity aims to foster students' higher-order thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and entrepreneurship skills.
